Ingredients

  • ⅔ cup unsalted butter
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup water or coffee
  • 24 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips, divided
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt, or to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 325°F and line a 9×13-inch pan with aluminum foil, spraying with cooking spray.
  • In a saucepan, melt butter and sugar with water or coffee over medium heat, whisking continuously.
  • Add 12 ounces of chocolate chips to the melted mixture and whisk until smooth.
  • Transfer to a bowl, add eggs and vanilla, and whisk until combined.
  • Mix in flour, baking soda, and salt gently until just combined.
  • Fold in the remaining 12 ounces of chocolate chips.
  • Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 45 to 50 minutes, checking with a toothpick.
  • Allow brownies to cool for 30 to 60 minutes before slicing.

Notes
