- ⅔ cup unsalted butter
- 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
- ¼ cup water or coffee
- 24 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips, divided
- 4 large eggs
- 1 to 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt, or to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325°F and line a 9×13-inch pan with aluminum foil, spraying with cooking spray.
- In a saucepan, melt butter and sugar with water or coffee over medium heat, whisking continuously.
- Add 12 ounces of chocolate chips to the melted mixture and whisk until smooth.
- Transfer to a bowl, add eggs and vanilla, and whisk until combined.
- Mix in flour, baking soda, and salt gently until just combined.
- Fold in the remaining 12 ounces of chocolate chips.
- Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 45 to 50 minutes, checking with a toothpick.
- Allow brownies to cool for 30 to 60 minutes before slicing.
Notes
Use high-quality chocolate chips for the best flavor.
Do not overbake; check at the minimum baking time.
Cool completely for easier slicing.
