Ingredients
Scale
- 30 frozen dinner roll dough, thawed but still cold
- 1 1/4 lb lean ground beef
- 1 medium onion, finely diced
- Olive oil for cooking
- 1 Tbsp hamburger or steak seasoning (garlic, onion, pepper, and salt mixture)
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 1/2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 2 oz chive and onion cream cheese, softened
- 1/3 cup chopped dill pickles
- 1/3 cup ketchup
- 3 Tbsp yellow mustard
- 1 large egg, beaten with 1 tsp cold water
- Sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
- Begin by arranging the frozen dinner rolls on a wax paper-lined baking sheet, ensuring they are not touching.
- Next, loosely cover the rolls with plastic wrap and let them sit for approximately 1 hour, or until they have thawed but are still cold to the touch.
- In a large 12-inch skillet, heat a couple of drizzles of olive oil over medium-high heat.
- Add the lean ground beef along with the finely diced onion. Cook until the beef is no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.
- Once cooked, drain any excess fat from the skillet.
- Stir in the hamburger seasoning, salt, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix well, allowing flavors to meld for an additional minute on heat.
- Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary, then remove from heat and let cool completely.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Combine the cooled ground beef mixture with shredded cheddar cheese, softened cream cheese, chopped dill pickles, ketchup, and yellow mustard in a mixing bowl.
- Take each thawed dough round and flatten it into a circle that measures approximately 2 1/2 to 3 inches in diameter.
- Place a generous tablespoon of the filling in the center of each dough round.
- Pinch the dough around the filling to seal it, ensuring the seam side is down on the baking sheet.
- Whisk together the egg and cold water in a small bowl and brush it over the tops and sides of each dough ball.
- Sprinkle sesame seeds on top of each bite.
- Bake for 20-22 minutes, or until the bites are golden brown and puffed up.
