Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound fresh strawberries (washed and dried)
- 8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional, for smoothness)
- Crushed nuts (optional)
- Sprinkles (optional)
- Drizzle of white chocolate (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the strawberries: Start by washing the strawberries gently under cool water. Pat them dry completely with paper towels.
- Melt the chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips and coconut oil (if using). Heat in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until melted and smooth.
- Coat the strawberries in chocolate: Holding the strawberry by the stem, dip it into the melted chocolate, swirling gently to coat evenly. Allow excess chocolate to drip off before placing on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Add optional toppings: Sprinkle toppings over the chocolate-coated strawberries while the chocolate is still wet.
- Chill the strawberries: Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes or until the chocolate has fully set.
Notes
Store chocolate covered strawberries in a single layer in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days.
