- 8 ounces spaghetti
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 pound ground beef or turkey
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (15 ounces) ricotta cheese
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and return to pot.
- Stir in the olive oil, salt, and pepper to the warm spaghetti.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil and sauté the onion until translucent. Add garlic and cook until fragrant.
- Add ground meat to the skillet, breaking it up as it cooks until browned. Drain excess fat and stir in marinara sauce.
- Simmer the meat mixture for 5-10 minutes, then fold in ricotta cheese.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a pie dish.
- Press half of the spaghetti mixture into the bottom and sides of the dish to form a crust.
- Pour the meat mixture over the spaghetti base, spreading evenly.
- Cover with the remaining spaghetti and top with shredded mozzarella.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
- Let cool for 10 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh basil if desired.
Notes
Feel free to customize with different vegetables or spices.
Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
Spaghetti pie can be made ahead of time and refrigerated before baking.
